Army Prosecutors Undergo Training to Tackle Complex Crimes
About 20 Nigerian Army Prosecutors have undergone a three-day training with an objective to address their capacity to address serious and complex crimes under Nigerian criminal law, including those crimes that potentially fall under the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court. Over the course of three days, from 2nd to 4th November 2017, the Wayamo Foundation, Africa Group for Justice and Accountability (AGJA) and International Nuremberg Principles Academy held the fourth of the current series of capacity-building workshops on “Strengthening Justice and Accountability in Nigeria”.

Following on from five previous workshops on “Strengthening Justice and Accountability in Nigeria” held over the course of 2017 and 2018, the conclusion of the latest three-day session in Lagos, from November 1 to 3, marks the sixth in the series organised, promoted, designed and conducted by the Wayamo Foundation, the Africa Group for Justice and Accountability (AGJA) and the International Nuremberg Principles Academy.

Second training session for Nigeria’s Serious Crimes Response Team
The second SCRT training session took place over the span of three days: from 11 to 13 August 2021, participants and local experts gathered at Epe Resort in Lagos, with some international experts joining via Zoom.
The creation of an electronic case-file database to build complex cases
From 9 to 11 August 2021, the Wayamo Foundation held a workshop on the creation of an electronic case-file database within Nigeria’s Complex Casework Group (CCG), covering aspects ranging from the case-filing system to a purpose-designed ICC criminality assessment form and optimal use of Intella software.
