Navi Pillay, former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights spoke on behalf of the Africa Group for Justice and Accountability, said the Africa Group would “champion a transparent and productive dialogue between relevant stakeholders and the ICC.”
Former Transitional President Catherine Samba-Panza (Central African Republic), Professor Dapo Akande (Nigeria) and Professor Tiyanjana Maluwa (Malawi) join the Africa Group.
The group will support efforts to strengthen justice and accountability measures in Africa through domestic and regional capacity building, advice and outreach, and enhancing cooperation between Africa and the International Criminal Court.
